Earlier this month, the 21-year-old Tome Kitanovski decided to begin his international career when he completed a transfer to Romanian second division side CS Universitatea Craiova.  Kitanovski moved to Romania from his hometown club of Pelister.

Kitanovski had been a versatile player for Pelister as he played in multiple positions.  He played several positions on defense, mostly right-back or left-back, and even further up the field in other occasions.  In Romania, CS Universitatea Craiova is bringing in Kitanovski to primarily play the right-back position.

Tome has played for several of the Macedonian youth national teams, and also won one cap for the senior national team in a friendly against Poland back in December of 2012.  He came off the bench as a substitute in a game that was used by former manager Chedomir Janevski to test exclusively domestic based players.

So, after his recent transfer to Romania, we reached out to Kitanovski for a quick interview.  We talked about his preferred position, his relationship with the Pelister fans, his thoughts on debuting for the senior national team, and how he got in contact with CS Universitatea Craiova.

Here is our question and answer session with Kitanovski:

MF: At Pelister, you played multiple positions.  What do you think is your best position long-term?
TK: Yeah, I have played in several positions.  But, I can't honestly pick one and say this is my best position because both sides suit me.  Furthermore, wherever I play, I will give my maximum to complete the responsibilities that are asked of that position on the field.

MF: Earlier, you remained with Pelister even in its dark days.  How was your relationship with the fans of Pelister?  What would you like to tell them?
TK: Every footballer would like to have the kind of relationship with their fans like I had with my Čkembari (Pelister fan group).  They are one of a kind and the best, and I would advise them to continue like that.

MF: You played once for the senior national team of Macedonia in the friendly against Poland in December of 2012.  How was that experience?
TK: The experience is awesome when you wear the dress of your country on your back, and you defend the colors in all the youth categories for the national team.  However, there is something special when you play for the senior national team.  That carries a different kind of weight.

MF: How did you get in contact with the Romanian club CS Universitatea Craiova?
TK: I came in contact with the Romanian club through my manager.  He is Serbian by origin and he arranged the whole thing.

In the coming days, we will publish articles about our interviews with Mario Gjurovski, Daniel Mojsov, Stefan Spirovski and Darko Glishikj.
